The only data pertaining to the A&Y that I have on this locomotive is that it was removed from the A&Y lease and returned to the Southern on November 17, 1933. Those same records state that the Southern Railway recommended that the 273 be retired, storing it on a dead track at Spencer. It was scrapped at Spencer in December, 1934 according to R.E. Prince's roster data.
Prior to 1903 this locomotive was Southern #260.
