Modeling Passenger Cars
Modeling the passenger
cars of the Danville & Western
Although the early Pennsylvania RR coaches usually show up on the lists
of most wanted PRR models, they have not been produced as far as I
know. That leaves two options. Scratch build, or
use
commercial stand-ins.
La Belle makes some nice looking
wooden kits, and
Con-Cor and
Roundhouse
have wooden coaches available ready to run. The Con-Cor cars
have
roofs more like the prototype, but the Roundhouse cars have the proper
side panelling. I would probably suggest using the Roundhouse
cars, possibly with a modified roof.
The three cars from the RF&P are equally difficult to model.
While
La Belle has some cars which are
similar in some respects, there are no really accurate models of these
cars that I am aware of. As with so much other D&W
equipment, kitbashing or scratch building are probably the best options.
